Barcoat is a quick drying yellow oxide isolator. It is designed to prevent lifting and bleeding of existing paint film sensitive to solvent attack when overcoated with cellulose or paint containing strong solvents.

TECHNICAL DATA & APPLICATION GUIDE

SUBSTRATES

• Original Paint
• Viscosity: 25-30 seconds BS4
• Specific Gravity g/cm: 1.15g/cm
  • Barcoat should be air dried

TOOLS REQUIRED

• System 20 UP2012/UP2022 Solvent Based Degreaser or UP2002 Water Based Degreaser
• 280-320 Grit Sandpaper
• HVLP Gravity Gun
• Painters’ Overalls

SUBSTRATE PREPERATION

• For best results, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned, degreased, dried and dust free.

VISCOSITY POISE

• Working Pot-Life @ 70°F, 25-30 seconds
  
  

COMPLIANT HVLP GRAVITY GUN

• Gun Tip Size: 1.3-1.4mm
• Air Pressure at the Gun: 26-29 PSI

COATS

• 1 coat
• Build/mMIL : 0.60-0.80 MIL total dry film thinkness

DRYING TIMES

• Overcoat Time @ 70°F – 1 Hour at ambient temperature

OVERPAINTING

Barcoat should be overcoated with primer/surfacer

Barcoat should not be sanded before application of further coats of paint.

SHELF LIFE

• 2 years from date of manufacture in sealed original containers.
• Recommended Storage Temperature 40°F - 75°F
